Welcome

Goleen National School is a small, co-educational primary school under the patronage of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Cork and Ross, set in the rural village of Goleen in West Cork, on the South- Western tip of Ireland. A silhouette of the nearby Fastnet Rock forms the crest of our school.
At the heart of our school is the belief in the dignity and uniqueness of every human being. Respect is the foundational value of all our human interactions and we aim to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Goleen N.S. has two mainstream class teachers, a special education teacher, a special needs assistant, a part-time secretary, part-time cleaner and part-time caretaker. There are two astro-turf play areas and the school is blessed to also have the use of the parish hall. Goleen N.S. has a very committed and hard-working staff. The Board of Management, staff and parents all work together to provide a school environment where each child can thrive and reach his/her full human potential.
School Motto:
“Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí.” Praise the youth and they will flourish.
